U. Mass Conference Approaching

As the U. Mass Conference approaches, I am busy making the final preparations on the lesson demo and the panel presentation. The Conference will be on Friday, April 11th, at the Medical School in Worcester, MA. My presentation will focus on a range of methods for integrating tie-ins to health care careers into science lessons. Although I have been using case studies since my student teaching in the year 2000, my most recent experiences have involved the use of infectious disease case studies in the public health unit of my environmental science course. I will be discussing my recent experiences from this unit as well as highlights from the past eight years. The conference will be a great opportunity to meet other teachers and health care professionals who are involved in education.
