It appears there is a new development in the Katz household as of late: Dr. Birdley cookies. Upon molding and icing these tasty treats I was struck by how we were able to get them to look like the characters. Birdley, Jaykes, Norman, Owelle, and Gina all appeared as cookies. We hope to have some ready for the NSTA Conference.
In addition to the cookies, the two upcoming books are taking shape as well. These books, which focus on earth science and evolution, will involve a lot of travel for Dr. Birdley, including New Mexico, Western Australia, Yellowstone Park, and the Galapagos Islands. The Physics book, Forces in Motion, is due out this summer.
With the NSTA Conference in March, the U. Mass Conference in April, a possible Gallery opening in April-May, and a couple more books on the way, it is shaping up to be a busy spring.
